First, the focus is on books from Northern California authors (or visiting authors). I mean the real Northern California, Sacramento northward, with an emphasis on Butte County. I think the Sacramento Bee calls it “far Northern California,” and that’s helpful in getting one’s mind out of the Bay Area when “Northern California” is referenced.
My weekly Biblio File column in the Chico Enterprise-Record (which I’ve been writing for over thirty years now) forms the key element of this newsletter, which will archive the columns after they appear in print. (The newspaper has kindly let me create the archive.)
Columns are also available on my Musable blog, but since Google has decided to remove the “subscribe by email” feature (or I can’t find it), this newsletter will allow you to do just that. I wrote all the blog subscribers about the existence of Barnetto, but I haven’t yet heard from either of them.

Second, I want to include some interesting quotes from the books I’m reading and, beyond books, other stray thoughts that happen to arise. A lot of these thoughts may never pop and may break your tooth if you try to bite them, but others may get at some important kernel of truth and….
